An overview of the Institute
The history of the Institute:
The Institute was established after lengthy thinking and consultancy with the scholars of Yemen, at the top of whom is Sheikh Yahya Al-Hajooree who is in charge of the Dammaj
center. Sheikh Yahya is the successor to Sheikh Muqbil Bin Haadi AI-Wadi'ee, Rahimuhullah. Thereafter, the
Institute was established on the 1st of January, 2002 . The institute was established after conducting an overall study of all issues that are necessary for the teaching of the students, including costs, care, and educational means.
The location of the Institute:
The institute is located in the center of Sana'a, the capital city of Yemen, in the middle of a main street that links the northern and the southern parts of the city. Many commercial places and shops that sell Islamic books are spread along the street. In addition, the largest
supermarket in Sana'a is located on the street. The prices in this
supermarket are much less than prices in other commercial places. Furthermore, many communication centers and internet cafes exist
on the street. The Institute is located on the fourth floor of a building called “The Sharqain Center". The center consists of Masjid As-Sharqain,
which is considered a visiting center for scholars in
Sana'a,
in addition to the Institute. It also consists of an Islamic library for reading, revising, and research. There is also a
nearby library for buying books. There is another building for apartments beside
the Sharqain Center whereby students are considered fortunate to find a vacant apartment for rent.
Services of the Institute:
The Institute is concerned with the reception, hospitality, and care of the student upon arrival. It arranges for them to be
received from the airport and secured with accommodation, whether temporary or permanent. If the accommodation is temporary, the
Institute will search for a suitable permanent home for the student. After this, a person from the
Institute accompanies the student for a tour of the city upon request for three days without charge. This is in order to introduce and familiarize him with the places in the city and for him to list names of places that he may need. If the student wishes to be accompanied for more than three days the
Institute requests a fee for the extra days. As for transactions with
Yemeni government official bodies, the Institute will receive the student and see him off on departure taking care of all necessary processes.
